DESCRIPTION:Dirtopia’s Sunset to Full Moon Hike invites you to enjoy a marked trail at Muratie Wine Estate to the lookout point above the cellar\, as the sun dips below the horizon and the moon begins its gentle rise. It’s a beautiful way to have a bit of an adventure\, connect with nature\, and soak up the atmosphere of an early Autumn evening on the mountain. \n Bring along a picnic and enjoy breathtaking views with a glass of Muratie’s award-winning wine at the top. After sunset\, continue the adventure as the trail winds back through the forest\, illuminated by your headlamp under the full moon. \n The circular route takes hikers on a marked route of 3.5km in total and with over 200 hand-built steps. It takes 30 to 45 minutes to the look-out going up\, depending on your pace of course. Plan your arrival anytime from 4.45pm at the Trail Centre\, but no later than 5.30pm. \nThe marked hiking trail leads to a lookout point\, where you can marvel at views of Simonsberg\, the Winelands\, and even Table Mountain. Here\, you can buy four Muratie wines from the MCC\, Dry Rose\, Sauvignon Blanc or the Melck’s Dry Red blend. \n After sunset & moonrise (by 18h45)\, it only takes about 20 to 30 minutes back to Dirtopia Trail Centre. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nA backpack with your own food/picnic and blanket for the lookout point.\nJacket/sweater for after dark.\nA torch or headlamp.\nGood walking or hiking shoes for varied terrain.\n\nWhat to Expect: \n\nMuratie wines by the glass or bottle is available at the look-out.\nSnacks like chips & energy bars and cooldrinks are on sale at the Trail Centre\, where you’ll also collect your permit on arrival.\n\nSchedule: \n\nArrival: From 16:45 (latest start: 17:30).\nLatest descent from the lookout: 19:00.\nReturn to Trail Centre: 19:00-19:30\, depending on your pace.\n\nVenue:\nDirtopia Trail Centre\, Muratie Farm\, Knorhoek Road\, off the R44 near Stellenbosch. \nCost: \n\nAdults: R160 per person & Children under 10: R80\n(Includes a permit for the marked trail\, valid for this exclusive after-hours experience.\n\nAn unforgettable Autumn evening at Muratie\, where golden light fades into moonrise above the Winelands. SUMMARY:Wine Walk @ Muratie - 18 April
DESCRIPTION:This is a social hike of around 2km total\, starting at Dirtopia Trail Centre at Muratie Wine Estate\, where you’ll be treated to a Mimosa on arrival.  The circular route winds through the vineyards at Muratie with views of Simonsberg and Table Mountain in the distance.  Along the way there will be four stops to taste wine from the several cultivars. Please note that a relative amount of fitness is required. \nBring good (closed) walking shoes\, backpack with water\, hat\, snacks (if you like)\, jacket and of course water bottle. Even a picnic blanket will be handy to relax while you taste the wines.  This is a relaxed event with lots of socializing and so that you can enjoy the Winelands scenery of the Stellenbosch outdoors! \nGET TICKETS HERE \nEnsure you book by the Friday before event by 12h00. Limited tickets and all must be done online. \nThe Trail Centre will be open early for snacks and cold drink sales. Please note that any drinks before\, during or after the walk is for your own account. \nVENUE: Start and finish at Dirtopia trail Centre\, Muratie Wine Estate\, Stellenbosch \nTIME: For registration from 08h30\, so that we can start the walk by 9.00am and will be back by 11pm \nDISTANCE: Approximately 2.5km in total \nCOST: R245 Kids U18 R85 and will receive one juice instead of wine \nINCLUDES: Day permit for marked route and wine tasting on top of the mountain. \nWear good walking/hiking shoes. Bring a jacket\, carry your own water and perhaps some snacks to enjoy on the mountain. \nSCHEDULE:\n08h30 – 08h25: Registration. You will receive an armband that will give you access to the route and wine tastings.\n09h00: Start the walk at leisurely pace.\nA short briefing will take place before you follow the marked route. \n09h30 until 10.30am: Walk to the four stations at your own time to taste the wines.\n11h00/12h00: Arrival back at Dirtopia Trail Centre.
