Events at Muratie
05 May 2008
I am sitting under the oak tree outside the cellar. My daughter Isabella has brought me a mug of Rooibos tea and some Jolly Jammers, my favourite biscuits. I have come here to find some peace and quiet away from the noisy cellar and busy tasting room to write our first official newsletter.
Many of our fans can remember coming here as a child to buy wine, and many comment on how little has changed in this peaceful place. However, one thing that has improved is the quality of the wine.
Since I took over the running of the farm four years ago, we have paid specific attention to the condition of the vineyards, and the way we handle the grapes in the cellar. Take a look at the current John Platter Wine Guide and you will be amazed at our superb ratings. During the latter part of the last century, the farm merely ticked over, but today, thanks to our dynamic team, Muratie is experiencing a renaissance.
